NAME: Tony Silvestre*


Biography:


Dr. Silvestre is a social worker whose practice is research and community organizing. He has been doing HIV research and prevention since 1982 and has published on lesbian, gay, bisexual, & transgender health, HIV counseling and testing, and organizing ethnic/racial and gay minorities groups to build HIV prevention infrastructures. Dr. Silvestre is an assistant professor in the Department of Infectious Diseases and Microbiology at the Graduate School of Public Health. He is also co-investigator and clinic administrator of the Pitt Men's Study, the Pittsburgh site of the Multicenter AIDS Cohort Study and Director of the Center for Research on Health and Sexual Orientation.
