A memorial service will be held Saturday for Derek James Ford, 48, an economist and former Philadelphia resident who died Sept. 13 in Paris of complications from AIDS. For nine years, Mr. Ford was a director of Wharton Econometric Forecasting Associates of Philadelphia. Since 1985, he had served as an economist for the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in Paris. Mr. Ford was born in New Zealand, and received his doctorate in economics
