DENNIS D. BETHEA, 43, executive director of the Tenant Action Group of Philadelphia (TAG), died Monday of complications from AIDS at his sister's home in Willingboro. He was a resident of North Philadelphia.


Mr. Bethea began working for TAG in 1987 as assistant director. He was then appointed acting director and in December 1992 became executive director of the private nonprofit organization.


In 1973 he received a bachelor of arts degee from Rutgers University. At the time of his death he was working on his master's degree at Ohio University.


Mr. Bethea moved from Washington to Philadelphia in 1986 and became director of social services at National Temple Non-Profit Corp. He served on many boards in Philadelphia, including Women's Way, AIDS Activity Coordinating Committee; We The People; Housing Consortium for Disabled Individuals, and Philadelphia AIDS Consortium.


Survivors: his mother, Gertrude Bethea Richardson, five brothers and three sisters.


Services: A memorial will be held at a later date.
