He died last week at Pennsylvania Hospital due to complications from AIDS. Mr. Cook, a Center City resident, was an associate professor of anthropology and head of the department of social services at Community

College of Philadelphia. He also was a longtime musician who studied piano and French horn and played in the concert and marching bands
