Biography: Founded La Panetiere and brought Georges Perrier to Philadelphia.
Peter Frederick von Starck, 42, owner of La Panetiere, one of Philadelphia's most prestigious French restaurants, died Monday in his Center City home. His death was attributed to internal hemorrhaging. Von Starck was known to have suffered from gout and ulcers.
