Source: Ralph Cipriano, Inquirer Staff Writer James Paris Hymes, 41, a former city official who fought on the front lines against AIDS, died Wednesday at his Center City home from complications of AIDS. Mr. Hymes was the former director of the AIDS Activities Coordinating Office with the city Department of Public Health. He also was one of the most visible AIDS activists in the city. Shortly after he was diagnosed with AIDS in December, Mr. Hymes went public with his illness.
