NAME: Bill Norwood
Biography: Bill Norwood, 53, a designer who helped to transform African American fashion shows in the city from church-basement affairs into hotel-ballroom extravaganzas, died Monday at Albert Einstein Medical Center of complications associated with AIDS. In the early 1970s, Mr. Norwood was among the first black fashion designers in the Philadelphia area to produce fashion shows and train models. The shows grew from intimate gatherings using church members as models into big-production events
