William Ridgeway


Biography:

Billy Ridgeway worked as a witer at Backstage Restaurant, where he was loved by all. Born in Point Pleasant, NJ, he moved to Philadelphia to attend the Philadelphia College of Art. A talented jewelry designer, he won the "1983 Diamonds Today" competition. His work earned him a two page write up in Women's Wear Daily, as well as an interview on the Merv Griffin Show. He lived in South Philadelphia and is remembered by friends, for among other things, the peanut brittle he made to give as Christmas gifts. He was self-employed when he died at the age of 24.
